When in Berlin House of Representatives election is due, will strike at the Charité. It was 2006, and this year, 2011 points, again all out. At the Charité, Berlin University Hospital, on Wednesday, collective bargaining for some 13,000 employees in nursing, technology and management will continue. The last meeting was inconclusive, shortly before Christmas. A range of management, the salaries in 2011 to increase by one percent, had rejected the union as a non-negotiable.
Verdi is in the middle of November recorded negotiations went in with a percentage requirement, but requires more pay € 300 for all full-time employees. As the Tariff Commission has calculated, this corresponds approximately to the average wage differential to employees in local hospitals. "That's pretty much what a nurse under the collective agreement for public service gets," the Verdi-operation Group and Staff chairman Carsten Becker said in an interview with young world.
Suspended capital
Due to the withdrawal of the "red-red" ruled the capital from the collective bargaining unit German states (TdL) in 2002 was Germany's largest university hospital (like all other state employees in Berlin as well) was uncoupled from 2003 from income developing the public service outside of Berlin. Only in 2006, it was the union that ended after a long debate and a two-week Erzwingungsstreik, the collective state. The company agreement, the employees at that time was fought, 2007 and provided for an increase of 4.4 percent over 2003. This was compatible with the collective agreement for public service (TvöD) in 2005. However, the increase came in several stages. The TvöD-state of 2005 was more or less achieved in 2009.
"We want this round connection to the federal level," Becker reiterated on Tuesday to demand. In consideration arrangement aspire to a brief period, "to come in the future again in the same timing as the federal collective movement." At the same time urges the union to eliminate existing differences between workers from East and West, such as protection against dismissal. In addition, the working hours and leave arrangements are subject of the talks.
"We do not expect that" we have given a collective bargaining agreement without a strike, "said Becker. "But the combat readiness of our colleagues is high. "Verdi had set himself," no long negotiations "to let it wash over him. At a specific time frame would be the union do not set yesterday. He made it clear: When the spring comes without results, represent the Charité, the characters on strike.
Impending destruction
On 18 Berlin from September vote on the composition of the country's future parliament. For Verdi, this is undoubtedly a favorable constellation, because it can not be assumed that want to have to confront the SPD and left a few months before the elections with a long strike. Less favorable is the structural situation: how the gesamte Gesundheitswesen ist die Charité chronisch unterfinanziert. End of January had Charité-chairman Karl Max Einhäupl for conversion of the hospital expressed in a corporation. The advantage lies in the fact that "the Charité would be credit worthy and we all would not" be approved by Parliament and the Senate administrative leave, said his spokeswoman Stefanie winds of Berliner Zeitung . Joachim Bovelet, general manager of the other state-owned hospital group, the Vivantes GmbH, had requested this for his house in the previous year. Sell \u200b\u200b
While Bovelet but some of the shares to private investors would, should the Charité-shares according to the plans to Einhäupl 100 percent stay in the country owned. Einhäupl is also among the staff as a staunch opponent of the destruction of the University Hospital. Among trade unionists the idea met with little enthusiasm. Ver.di see here is the risk of splitting the hospital into several economically "independent" areas, other spin-offs and partial privatization.
